You’ve made it.
Hi! You’ve made it. (:
A heartfelt thank you for finding your way to this blog and reading these first few sentences. Transforming thoughts into words can be a daunting task, and sharing those words with loved ones (and also internet strangers) whom I want to connect with, is even scarier.
If you are a stranger, or if it has been a while since we last spoke, please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Jessica, but you can call me Jess. I am a wedding filmmaker by profession, and while I sometimes think that becoming a filmmaker was a sweet, serendipitous accident, looking back on my life, it becomes clear why I am so deeply in love with my job. I was always watching family home videos, immersed in tales of fated lovers in books, scribbling my own stories and images in the margins of school notebooks, tinkering around on the piano instead of doing chores, and moving to music as a ballerina. Being an artist ever-presently engaged with emotion and movement has, was, and will always be who I am.
So about the blog. It’s simply something I want to do. Instead of letting myself settle into the "When… Then…" trap, I am diving headfirst into it. No reservations or excuses. I am simply going for it, doing the scary thoughts into words and sharing them with you thing, hoping to discover the blogs full purpose somewhere along the way.
I envision this blog as a space for genuine connections and inspiration. I'll share all things weddings for the couples who want insights from someone who witnesses some of life's most intimate and beautiful moments. But I'd also like to share a slice of “Honey Fox life”, like the art that inspires me or the flowers I’m trying to grow in my garden. I suppose what I am trying to do is explore the art of storytelling not just through wedding films, but through life itself, celebrating the messy and breathtaking beauty of being an artist human.
I'm going to do my best to show up and share my stories on this blog with love and vulnerability, creating spaces where people feel seen and inspired to create magic in their own lives. I genuinely want this to be a place of connection, so my ask for you if you've read this far is...
Drop a comment to say hello and/or subscribe to the blog. It’d let me know you are there.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
With much excitement and love for whatever this may become (even if it is just for me),
Jess
