The Ultimate Wedding Videography Bucket List

Hi honey! While I’ve been lucky enough to film some incredible love stories, there are still a few (okay, a lot) of dream scenarios I’m dying to capture on camera. I’ve debated sharing this list with anyone, but I’ve decided to move forward with publishing some of my dreams on the internet in hopes that it helps me and the right couples connect. I’m ready to share a little piece of my heart with you, so, if you’re hoping to plan something a little outside the box, maybe his post will inspire you.

Here it is—my ultimate wedding and couples session bucket list:

1. A Ballet Dancer Couple

As a former ballet dancer, this one hits close to home. I’ve always dreamed of filming a real-life couple performing a pas de deux in a dreamy attic filled with natural light and a hint of haze. The graceful movements, the artistry, and the deep emotional connection between the dancers would make this a story that’s both visually captivating and deeply heartfelt.

2. Lovers at a Museum

Art, natural history, or even a quirky niche—museums are treasure troves of inspiration. I picture a couple wandering through the exhibits, stealing glances and maybe a cuddle in the corner. It’s a setting that celebrates curiosity and connection. Every exhibit tells a story, and so does love.

3. A Wedding with Dramatic Design

Think bold, high-end designs that take your breath away. Drapery cascading from ceilings, avant-garde florals, and striking pops of color. Imagine a wedding inspired by editorial publications like The Wed or Anti Bride, with every detail exuding high fashion. From a captivating venue to intricate artistic touches, I’d love to document an event that commands attention.

4. In the Subway

There’s this love song that mentions a subway, and every time I hear it, I picture a couple slow dancing in a grungy subway station. It’s gritty but sweet. A perfect little slice of life. Imagine the echoes of laughter, the rush of trains, and the mix of urban chaos with intimate romance. I believe a setting like this would bring raw, real energy to a love story.

5. A Sushi Date

Something about sushi feels classy and intimate. Maybe it’s the clean lines of the restaurants or the vibrant colors of the food. Filming a couple sharing sushi feels to me like capturing an authentic moment of connection. From delicate chopstick maneuvers to shared smiles over their favorite rolls.

6. At a Theater

Old theaters have such a romantic vibe. The red velvet seats, dramatic stage lights, and vintage charm. Whether it would be a wedding or an intimate session, a theater feels like the perfect spot for couples who love drama (the good kind). Imagine exchanging vows under a spotlight or sharing a quiet moment in the wings. Leaning over the theater seat to kiss your lover. It’s cinematic perfection.

7. A Cat at a Wedding

Dogs? Been there, done that (and loved every minute of course). But a cat? Now that would be groundbreaking. It’d take a confident feline to rock the wedding day spotlight, but I know they’re out there. Someone, please tell me your cat will be part of the wedding day!

8. Library or Bookstore Wedding

For my fellow bookworms, imagine tying the knot surrounded by stories. A library or bookstore would make such a romantic and intimate venue. Shelves lined with books would provide a timeless backdrop, and your vows and the ceremony could even include quotes from your favorite stories. It’s the perfect setting for a love story of your own.

9. A Painter

This one might not be for a wedding but a couple’s session. I’d love to capture an artist painting their partner, their muse. Watching love come to life through art, with paintbrushes and canvas, is such a poetic way to showcase creativity and connection. The process is just as beautiful as the final masterpiece.

10. Dream Destinations

Okay let’s talk for a sec about some bucket list locations:

  • Morocco: The intricate architecture, vibrant colors, and bustling markets would create a dreamlike atmosphere.

  • Thailand & India: From lush landscapes to rich cultural traditions, these destinations offer endless visual inspiration. Vibrant ceremonies here would be a feast for the senses.

  • Scotland, Ireland, & England: Storybook vibes with cobblestone streets, rolling green hills, and dramatic cliffs. It’s perfect for adventurous couples. Castles and countryside galore.

  • New Zealand, Alaska, & Kauai: : Epic landscapes that feel like stepping into a fantasy novel. Unspoiled natural beauty, from glaciers to tropical waterfalls, for the ultimate elopements. Perfect for couples who love the great outdoors.

  • The Netherlands: Quaint charm meets romance, with scenic bike rides and cozy farmhouse celebrations. Think tulips, windmills, and warm embraces. I lived here for almost 2 years and can’t wait to return soon.

  • Provence, France: Lavender fields, vineyards, Michelin star food, and sun-drenched views—it’s romance personified. Every view feels like a painting. I even have some incredible venues in mind that would be the perfect setting for a countryside wedding in France.

  • Iceland: I’ve filmed a wedding here before, but I have this idea of a week-long road trip with a couple around the ring road. It would be the adventure of a lifetime. Iceland is just raw beauty. It is otherworldly.

11. On a Sailboat

There’s something effortlessly luxurious about a sailboat. Picture a couple basking in the sun, waves sparkling around them, and drone shots capturing the whole vibe. The gentle sway of the water and the endless horizon make for an unforgettable setting. Whether it’s part of a wedding weekend or the main event, it’s pure magic.

12. At a Castle

I’m talking legit European castle—turrets, gardens, and all. Imagine high fashion, florals, and a fairytale setting for a wedding that feels straight out of a storybook.

13. In an Ice Cave or Glacier

I’m thinking Iceland or Alaska or even Antarctica (Can you get married there? How cool would that be?!). The icy blues, dramatic lighting, and sheer otherworldly beauty make this a setting like no other. This would be an adventurous couple’s dream.

14. Disney Wedding

Disneyland, Disney World. I’m a child at heart still. I imagine weddings at Disney parks being just so magical and memorable. From twinkling lights to fairytale settings, it’s a place where happily ever afters start in the most enchanting way.

15. Food Centric Wedding

Food connects people, and I’d love to film a wedding where it takes center stage. Whether it’s a Michelin-star experience, a cooking class, or exploring a culture through food. Think feasting tables, interactive food stations, and happy, full hearts. The flavor of love, quite literally.

16. A Market Session

Farmers markets, night markets, art & craft fairs. A couple wandering through vibrant stalls, trying snacks, and soaking up the atmosphere? Yes, please. It’s vibrant and lively. I think the colors, sounds, and textures of a bustling market make a perfect backdrop for a love story.

17. Bachelorette Trip

Brides (or non-binary babes), let’s celebrate you and your crew. I’d love to capture the joy and fun of an epic bachelorette trip. Your themed outfits, silly little games, poolside laughter, or glamorous nights out. I want to capture you and your bonds with your people in a way you’ll cherish forever.

18. Retreats

Yoga, reading, wellness retreats, etc… these soulful experiences would be incredible to document, especially if they’re tied to love and growth. Capturing quiet moments of reflection and connection, the details and behind-the-scene work, the feeling. As an attendee of such retreats, I know how life changing they can be, so it would be a treat to capture one.

19. Nighttime Wedding

Imagine a New Year’s Eve wedding or another late-night celebration with stunning ambient lighting. I feel like it would be a unique challenge for videography, but one I would be up for.. The results would be dreamy and pure magic.

20. Wedding entirely on Analog Film

We are talking super 8. 16mm. Ditching digital and going fully analog to tell your love story would be such a cool and nostalgic vibe. The grainy, romantic aesthetic of film adds a timeless quality to any wedding or session. It’s raw, real, and impossibly romantic.

21. Honeymoon or Couples Trip

Documenting a couple’s adventures on a trip sounds like a dream. Exploring new places, sharing experiences, trying new food, shopping for souvenirs, and of course capturing the love. Yes, yes, and yes. From bustling cities to serene landscapes, I really do believe that every moment of your story is worth documenting and cherishing.

22. Senior Couples

I feel there is something incredibly special about capturing love in its golden years. It could be a couple who has been together for decades, sharing a long and beautiful love story, or it could be a couple who found their match later in life—a love that bloomed when they least expected it. Whether they’ve spent a lifetime together or just a few cherished years, these moments are full of wisdom, laughter, and a deep connection that only time can create. I’d love to document the profound beauty and joy of love that’s only grown stronger with age. Doing a project like this would be a privilege.

23. A Cruise Ship Wedding

Okay, I know cruises are not for everyone, but for the people who do like them.. Imagine saying “I do” surrounded by endless blue waters, golden sunsets, and the gentle sway of the sea. A wedding aboard a cruise ship offers the perfect mix of elegance and adventure, with unique opportunities for breathtaking shots both onboard and at port stops. Whether it’s an intimate getaway with just the two of you or a grand celebration, the setting of a cruise promises a fun version of romance on the open water.

24. A Safari

Can you imagine a wedding amidst the wild landscapes of Africa, with a safari adventure to follow? It would be something truly extraordinary. From the awe-inspiring wildlife to the sweeping Savannahs, the beauty of this setting would create unforgettable memories. I’ve been lucky to work with a past Honey Fox Films bride who specializes in planning epic safaris. So if you’re dreaming of something like this, she would be an incredible resource to help turn your safari wedding experience into a reality.

Every love story is different, and there’s nothing I cherish more than the chance to capture those moments that make yours uniquely yours.
