A Beautiful Outdoor Wedding in Washington D.C.

Some weddings just have that magic. Where the air is warm, the music is timeless, and love feels tangible in every thoughtful little detail. Dominique and Geoff’s wedding was exactly that. Set at the gorgeous Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion in Chevy Chase, Maryland, their day was a beautiful balance of elegance and ease. It's one of my favorites for a reason!

The Night Before: A Warm Welcome

The celebration actually kicked off the night before at Metrobar, a super unique venue set in a refurbished metro car. Friends and family gathered to toast the soon-to-be-wed couple, sharing stories and laughter over cocktails. There was an undeniable warmth in the air—a feeling that this wasn’t just a wedding, but a gathering of a community of people who truly cherished Dominique and Geoff. The toasts were heartfelt, the energy was high, and it set the tone for the beautiful day ahead.

A Wedding That Felt Like Summer

When Dominique described their wedding as being a relaxed yet elevated garden party, I knew it was going to be something special. She painted a picture of a day that looked like

“A dinner party set in a garden, followed by the best dance party you've been to in years. Smells like jasmine, tomato, and the coming of summer. Sounds like Fleetwood Mac and a fresh breeze moving through trees.”

And truly, that’s exactly what it was.

The couple started their day at The Conrad Hotel in D.C. (a bright and spacious hotel for getting ready for any couple who is getting married in DC), where they got ready separately before sharing a sweet, intimate first look. It was the perfect way for the couple to slow down and soak in the moment before the celebrations began.

Woodend Sanctuary & Mansion provided the dreamiest backdrop for their ceremony and reception. Towering trees and lush gardens created a secluded, romantic atmosphere that felt like stepping into a storybook. But what made this wedding truly unforgettable was the way it honored heritage so seamlessly. With Dominique’s Ethiopian roots and a Jewish ceremony, the day was a stunning tribute to their family, communities, and the creation of something entirely new together. The ceremony was rich with tradition yet uniquely theirs, blending old and new in a way that felt effortless.

Other highlights of the day include the heartfelt Ketubah signing, the breaking of the glass under the canopy, the pretty stationary and signage that featured their pups, and of course - the music and dancing and purest joy at the end of a perfect day.

The Dream Team Behind It All

So many talented hands helped bring Dominique and Geoff’s vision to life (huge round of applause to Dominique and Geoff for curating such a lovely team), so if you notice something you adore from their wedding you can find the source of the magic below:

A Wedding to Remember

Dominique and Geoff’s wedding was one of those days you don’t forget. Not only because it was stunning (though it absolutely was), but because it was so deeply, beautifully them. Every flower, every song choice, every linen, every guest—everything felt intentional and personal. It was sincerely an absolute honor to capture their day and tell their story.
