A Timeless Wedding in New York City: How Honey Fox Films Captured Every Precious Moment
Love has a funny way of blossoming even in the most unexpected times, and that's exactly what happened to Emily and Luke. They met during the COVID-19 pandemic and their love story quickly unfolded, leading to a beautiful wedding day filled with moments that felt both modern and timeless.
When Emily and Luke were dating, they found themselves at an antique shop one day, browsing through the unique treasures. Emily had been deep in thought, pondering their relationship and seeking guidance whether it was something to seriously pursue. As she scanned the shelves, her eyes landed on a vintage ring case that caught her attention. It was inscribed with the words "Chicago" and "New York City," their hometowns, and she felt it was a sign from God.
Emily couldn't shake off the feeling that this was a meaningful sign from above, affirming their love and relationship. She shared her thoughts with Luke, and they both felt a deep sense of assurance that they were meant to be together. It was a heartwarming moment that reinforced their faith in each other and in the plans that God had for them.
Fast forward to November of 2021 and the wedding day started at the Beekman Hotel where Emily got ready surrounded by her bridesmaids and read a sweet letter letter from her soon to be husband. Meanwhile, Luke prepared for the big day at the Brooklyn Tabernacle, a grand old theater that has been transformed into a chapel by his grandparents. Luke was surprised by his bride with a beautiful wood chess set which he played with his younger brother.
The theme of the wedding was "modern heirloom," and it was evident in every detail. Emily looked stunning in her Pnina Tornai gown from the renowned bridal boutique, Kleinfelds, with a custom-made veil. Luke wore a classic suit, and they exchanged rings that were also custom-made by Natalie Arakelian at V&O Style Jewelers from the brides hometown of Chicago.
The ceremony florals by BLXXM added a touch of elegance to the venue (I still dream about these florals), and as the couple said their vows, there wasn't a dry eye in the house. Luke expressed how Emily is his best friend and the greatest blessing in his life, and Emily shared that Luke is the greatest man she has ever known, someone she trusts deeply and feels seen and protected by.
Before a first kiss, Emily and Luke decided to worship God by taking sacrament and singing hymns of praise for the gift of Jesus and for each other. The ceremony was a testament to Emily and Luke's love for each other and their unwavering faith in God. It was a momentous occasion that marked the beginning of their journey as a married couple, and it was clear that their love was built on a strong foundation of shared values and beliefs.
After the ceremony, we headed to Central Park in a trolley, just as the fall foliage was at its peak, and captured some breathtaking photos. Emily and Luke shared Coca-Cola and Garrett popcorn, reminiscing about their journey together. They even encountered a street opera singer at Bethesda Terrace, who serenaded them while they shared a special dance, making the moment even more magical.
The reception took place at the iconic Loeb Boathouse, where the atmosphere was filled with love and celebration. The reception florals by Cress Floral added a touch of warmth and beauty to the venue. Heartfelt speeches were given by loved ones, and a live jazz band set the mood for a night of nostalgia and joy. The couple had a special first dance, symbolizing their journey together, and a photo booth by Flux Photo Booth provided a fun and interactive experience for guests. The late-night boba from Xing Fu Tang was a unique and memorable treat for everyone.
As the night came to an end, Emily and Luke made their exit in a classic NYC yellow taxi cab through Central Park, a perfect end to their picturesque, iconic New York wedding. Their love story felt like a modern heirloom, with moments that were meant to be, guided by their faith in God and supported by their loved ones.
Emily and Luke's wedding day was truly a testament to their love and commitment to each other, and I was honored to capture the precious memories on video. It was a day filled with love, joy, and faith, and their story is a reminder that love can flourish even in challenging times. I wish Emily and Luke a lifetime of happiness and blessings as they continue their journey together as husband and wife.
The ceremony was beautifully captured by the talented photographer, Ashley Maiso of Maiso Photography, whose skillful lens captured the essence of the day and seamlessly coordinated by Xin of Le Petite Prive, who sought after not only the needs of the couple, but also made us vendors feel so loved. I would highly recommend them both and love to work with them again.
